SHENANDOAH COUNTY, VA – A 65-year-old man died, and a 13-year-old teenager was injured from a solo-vehicle crash on I-81 in Shenandoah County Sunday.
The collision occurred before 4 pm, according to WRIC. A 2005 Ford F-150 intended to exit the highway. However, the driver was unsuccessful and ended up traveling off course and spiraling down an embankment.
The trailer attached to the truck rolled over.
The driver was identified as Louin S. Coates from Woodbridge.
Coates succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead at the scene. The teenager with him suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital.
