FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA – A man from Fairfax succumbed to his injuries nearly two weeks after he was hit in an accident, The Washington Post reports.

He was walking south across Lee Highway when he was struck by a car. The driver was traveling east on the highway and hit the pedestrian at the intersection of Lee Highway and Forum Drive.

The wreck took place shortly before midnight on Jan. 8th, west of Fairfax City.

Police reported on Tuesday that the man was pronounced dead after he was transported to a hospital.

No further information is available at this time as police continue to look into the case.
