MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD – A police officer was killed and his passenger was hurt after a vehicle crash this morning, according to My Montgomery Community Media.

A man was traveling eastbound on Spencerville Road when he experienced a medical emergency and his car crashed.

The accident took place at about 8:06 a.m. Friday, near the intersection of Spencerville Road and Good Hope Road.

Emergency responders with Montgomery County Fire and Rescue treated him for his injuries at the scene and took him to a medical center. He was later pronounced deceased by hospital staff. The man was a 36-year-old police officer with the Montgomery County Police Department.

A juvenile passenger sustained injuries from the crash and was also hospitalized.
