FREDERICK COUNTY, VA – Authorities are investigating a large accident that claimed the life of one woman on Sunday, WHSV 3 reports.

A man was driving a 2021 Dodge Ram on Route 50 westbound when he tried to make a turn onto Gore Road and struck a 2002 Ford Ranger. The Dodge also crashed into a 2014 Toyota Tundra during the accident.

The wreck happened at about 10:27 a.m. Sunday, according to Virginia State Police.

The Ford driver was severely injured and taken to a local medical center. His passenger, a 64-year-old woman from Mathias, was pronounced dead at the site of the accident.

The Dodge driver and Toyota driver did not sustain any injuries in the crash.

State Police charged the Dodge’s driver with reckless driving. We will be monitoring this story as VSP investigates.
