ANNE ARUNDEL CO., MD – One person died after a dump truck overturned off of a bridge Monday afternoon.

According to WUSA, the fatal accident occurred on Route 665 near Solomons Island Road around 1:00 PM on May 2nd.

The dump truck reportedly crashed into a retaining wall while crossing a bridge. The vehicle subsequently overturned and fell into the ravine below.

The driver, 63-year-old Cleve Tyrone Maynard, sadly died at the scene. 

The Anne Arundel County Police Department reported that Route 665 would remain closed overnight. It is unclear if the bridge has reopened.

The fatal crash remains under investigation.
