SEAT PLEASANT, MD – One person died and two others suffered injuries after a three-vehicle crash Monday afternoon.
According to ABC 7, the fatal accident took place at the intersection of Central Avenue and Ritchie Road around 4:00 PM on May 23rd.
A pickup truck reportedly sped through an intersection and crashed into the back of another vehicle. The impact of the crash caused the vehicle to strike another car stopped at the red light.
The driver of the first vehicle that was rear-ended suffered critical injuries. They unfortunately died shortly after arriving at the hospital. Authorities have identified the victim as 28-year-old Jose Hernandez Chavez.
The two other drivers suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Authorities continue to investigate the fatal accident.
