PRINCE GEORGE’S CO., MD – A AAA worker was struck and killed by a vehicle while helping another motorist Tuesday night.

According to WUSA, the fatal collision took place on Route 50 near Collington Road around 11:15 PM on July 5th.

The victim was reportedly refueling a van that was stopped partially in the shoulder and partially in the far left lane. The AAA vehicle was parked behind the van with its emergency lights turned on and traffic cones set up behind it. 

The driver of a black Jeep Cherokee Laredo swerved to the left to avoid hitting the AAA vehicle and struck the AAA worker.

The AAA worker sadly died at the scene. The victim has been identified as 69-year-old Anthony Okozi.

Police identified the driver as 21-year-old Joseph Anderson. At this time, it is unclear if they will face charges.

Prince George’s County police continue to investigate the fatal accident.
