News: One person seriously injured after crash caused by loose tractor-trailer parts

FAIR LAKES, VA – A woman suffered serious injuries after a crash caused by loose tractor-trailer parts that struck her vehicle Friday afternoon.

According to Fairfax Now, the accident occurred on I-66 eastbound at Stringfellow Road around 1:30 PM on July 1st.

The woman was reportedly traveling eastbound when a wheel hub and tire assembly detached from a nearby tractor-trailer and struck her car, causing her to lose control of the vehicle. The unidentified woman suffered life-threatening injuries as a result of the accident.

The tractor-trailer involved reportedly fled the scene, traveling westbound on I-66. Fairfax County Police continue to search for the tractor-trailer involved in the accident.
