First, it’s important to note that I avoid using the word “accident.” An accident implies that the incident was unavoidable, and no one is at fault.   However, most auto collisions are caused by negligence, and someone is typically responsible for the damages and injuries that result.

To start the investigation, I gather evidence.  This includes police reports, witness statements, dashcam or video footage, photos, medical records, and anything else that may be pertinent to the case. Then I review all of this information in effort to determine the cause of the collision and prove who is at fault.

Once all the necessary information has been gathered, I begin negotiating with the responsible party’s insurance company. This is where having the best personal injury attorney can make all the difference.

The other party’s insurance adjuster WILL conduct a thorough investigation of your claim.  This adjuster is highly trained and very good at what they do. And what they do best is protect the financial interests of their employer.  An insurance adjuster will happily deny your claim if they can and work diligently to pay you as little as possible if they must admit their insured is at fault.
