BETHESDA, MD – A bicyclist died after they were struck by a vehicle in Bethesda Wednesday afternoon.
According to NBC 4, the fatal collision took place on Old Georgetown Road near the Wildwood Shopping Center around 4:15 PM on June 1st.
The victim was reportedly riding his bicycle southbound when they veered off the sidewalk and into the northbound lanes. The bicyclist was subsequently struck by an oncoming vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene.
Authorities have yet to release the identity of the deceased bicyclist.
Police continue to investigate the fatal accident.
