WASHINGTON, D.C. – There were major lane closures after at least one vehicle crashed on New York Avenue this afternoon, according to DC Police Traffic.

The Metropolitan Police Department and the DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department were called to the scene at about 4:34 p.m. Friday.
New York Avenue was shut down in one left lane and North Capital Street was closed in all southbound lanes. Local crews were able to clear the site of the accident at about 5:28 p.m. today. All lanes of the road have since been reopened.
