MANASSAS, VA – A 7-year-old pedestrian suffered injuries after they were struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run collision Tuesday afternoon.

According to WTOP, the accident occurred on Academic Loop around 3:15 PM on May 17th.

The child reportedly ran into the road while playing and was struck by a gold SUV. The driver of the SUV stopped briefly and then fled the scene.

The child has been hospitalized and is currently in stable condition.

Police continue to search for the driver and vehicle involved in the accident.
