WOODBRIDGE, VA – A child died after falling out of a car and subsequently being run over in Woodbridge Sunday afternoon.

According to ABC 7, the fatal accident occurred at the intersection of Flotilla Way and Dyers Mill Court around 1:15 PM on June 12th. 

The 10-month-old victim was reportedly in the back seat of a car unrestrained when a family member opened the door and the child fell out. The driver immediately got out of the vehicle but left the car in drive. The vehicle subsequently rolled forward and struck the victim in the roadway.

The victim sustained a serious head injury and sadly died at the hospital later that day. 

Prince William County police continue to investigate the fatal accident. At this time, no charges have been filed.
