DAVIDSONVILLE, MD – A construction worker died after they were struck by a drunk driver in Davidsonville Tuesday night.
According to the Bay Net, the fatal accident took place on Davidsonville Road at Kings Retreat Drive around 10:00 PM on May 17th.
The driver of a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee initially struck a 2022 Honda Accord that had stopped at a flagger’s stop sign. The Jeep subsequently attempted to turn right onto Kings Retreat Road and struck a construction flagger directing traffic.
The Jeep then attempted to flee the scene and exited the roadway before crashing into a sign.
The construction flagger suffered critical injuries and sadly died shortly after being taken to the hospital. They have been identified as 56-year-old Lizeth Guzman.
The driver of the Jeep Grand Cherokee has been charged with DUI and homicide by motor vehicle. Police identified the driver as 48-year-old Christopher Asher.
