UPPER MARLBORO, MD – A District Heights man died last Friday when his motorcycle struck a tractor-trailer, according to the Bay Net.
A man was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle south on Route 4 when the vehicle swerved out of the lane. The motorcycle crashed into a Volvo tractor-trailer that was stopped in a turn lane. The wreck took place at around 11:30 p.m. Friday.
Emergency personnel was called to the scene near the intersection with Dower House Road. The motorcyclist, a 40-year-old from District Heights, was pronounced dead at the site of the crash.
Maryland Department of Transportation closed down the highway in the southbound lanes for nearly three hours.
The investigation is currently being handled by Maryland State Police.
