FAUQUIER COUNTY, VA – A two-car crash fatally injured one driver and hurt two other passengers this morning, Fauquier Times reports.
A police vehicle was traveling near the Route 17 and Granite Street intersection when it crashed with a civilian car. Details about the circumstances of the wreck have not yet been released.
Officers with Virginia State Police arrived at the scene at about 10:44 a.m. today. The civilian vehicle’s driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Their passenger was hospitalized for serious injuries.
The deputy driving the police unit was also severely injured but is in stable condition.
Route 17 was shut down in all directions after the wreck. We will be following this story as VSP investigates.
