News: Crews respond to vehicle fire on I-495 in Springfield

ALEXANDRIA, VA – At least one lane of I-495 was shut down following a crash in the Franconia area this afternoon.

According to a report by WTOP, the fire was first reported shortly after 1 p.m. just east of the I-395 interchange.

It is unclear what may have sparked the fire at this time. However, this situation is still developing. Drivers are advised to proceed with caution in the area while crews work to clear the scene.
