CUMBERLAND, MD – A vehicle struck and killed a female pedestrian last weekend, Cumberland Times-News reports.

A Nissan Altima was driving north on U.S. Route 220 when it struck a woman crossing the road. The wreck happened near Barton Boulevard.

The victim, a 37-year-old woman from Cumberland, was transported to a hospital. She was later pronounced dead by hospital staff.

The Maryland State Police reported the accident at about 7:10 p.m. Saturday. Their investigation is ongoing.
