News: Cyclist struck and killed by dump truck in Northwest DC

WASHINGTON, DC – A cyclist was struck and killed by a dump truck in Northwest DC early Friday morning.

According to WUSA, the fatal collision occurred at the intersection of 5th Street and Rhode Island Avenue NW around 3:00 AM on July 15th.

First responders report that the cyclist unfortunately died at the scene. The dump truck driver remained at the scene of the crash.

The Metropolitan Police Department continues to investigate the fatal accident.
