MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD – Multiple passengers were hospitalized this morning after their vehicles collided in Gaithersburg, according to NBC Washington.
Several vehicles were traveling on I-270 near I-370 earlier today when they collided. Some of the cars flipped over in the crash.
It’s unclear exactly how many cars were involved in the wreck.
Authorities shut down northbound lanes in the area as hazmat crews cleaned up the spilled chemicals from the roadway. The road was cleared several hours after the wreck.
Emergency responders transported five passengers to area hospitals for treatment. They are all in stable condition.
