PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, MD – A previous vehicle crash blocked a road and caused several other accidents that killed one driver yesterday, NBC Washington reports.
Two vehicles were stopped on the Capital Beltway at about 3 a.m. after a rear-end accident. A third driver pulled over to help them when he was struck by a passing vehicle. According to Maryland State Police, a Nissan Sentra ran into one of the vehicles involved in the wreck before it struck the good Samaritan. Another passerby in a Chevrolet Impala pulled over to help when he was hit by a GMC Arcadia SUV.
Authorities reported the wreck at the intersection of Capital Beltway and Central Avenue. Emergency responders transported six patients to the University of Maryland Medical Center. The Chevrolet’s driver, a 46-year-old man from Upper Marlboro, died at the hospital. It’s unclear whether the other drivers are in stable condition.
