CAPITOL HEIGHTS, MD – Commuters are experiencing heavy delays in traffic after a multi-vehicle accident this morning, according to Fox 5 DC.
At least six vehicles were heading south on Baltimore-Washington Parkway when the crash occurred. Emergency responders were called to the scene shortly after 4 a.m., past the highway interchange with US-50.
All lanes of the highway were shut down and traffic was diverted onto US-50. Fox 5 reported delays with speeds down to 5 mph stretching several miles. Motorists were advised to seek alternate routes, as the slowdowns added 30 to 45 minutes to commute time.
