STAFFORD, VA – Local authorities are gradually reopening a highway after a multi-vehicle crash this afternoon, according to WTOP News.

Several vehicles were traveling north on I-95 at around 1:40 p.m. when the crashes occurred. Emergency responders were dispatched to the crash sites between Exit 140 towards Courthouse Road and Exit 143 towards Garrisonville Road. At least one person was hurt in the crash. No word on their condition.

Local officials closed down all lanes heading northbound for over an hour and redirected traffic to Route 1. One lane was reopened as of 3 p.m. today.

We will be following this story as Virginia State Police investigate the circumstances of the wreck.
