ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD – One died following a wrong-way collision early Saturday morning, FOX 5 DC reported.
The collision occurred around 12:45 a.m. on I-97. Police speculated that a driver was impaired, which caused her to crash into another vehicle when she drove on the wrong side of the interstate. As a result, different cars collided with one another.
The impact led Brian Mahaney, 68, of Annapolis, to succumb to injuries and was pronounced dead.
The wrong-way driver was identified as Asia Lashae Bryant-Pelloni, 30.
Bryant-Pelloni was charged with negligent vehicular homicide while under the influence and vehicular homicide. She was booked into custody at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center.
