ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA – A 30-year-old man was left injured, and an 82-year-old man was left dead after a two-vehicle crash in Rockingham County Saturday.
The crash happened after 1:15 pm on Route 33, WRIC reported. The 30-year-old man, who drove a 2018 Jeep Cherokee, went through a red light. And as a result, he crashed into a 2003 Oldsmobile Alero.
Police identified the Jeep driver as Zaidoon Al Majidi and charged him with reckless driving.
Majidi was hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Oldsmobile Alero was identified as Richard Smith.
Smith succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
