BALTIMORE, MD – Police arrested a driver after he struck a state trooper on a highway this morning, CBS Baltimore reports.

A trooper with the Maryland State Police was standing on the shoulder of Route 152 when she was hit by a GMC Sierra pickup truck. MSP stated that she was inspecting a tractor-trailer in the southbound lanes when the accident took place.

Medics transported the trooper to a trauma center via airlift. Her current condition is unknown at this time.

The pick-up truck drove away from the scene but was stopped by another trooper. He was charged with leaving the scene of the crash. Police are still looking into the cause of the wreck.
