SNOW HILL, MD – Medics declared a man dead this morning after his truck swerved and drove into a river, according to ABC 47.
A man was heading south on Route 12 when his truck veered over the center line into the opposite lanes. The truck drove through a parking lot and into the Pocomoke River, where it was found completely submerged. Authorities were called at around 11 a.m. Friday.
The Salisbury Fire Department responded to retrieve the driver and pronounced him deceased at the site of the crash. He was 73 years old.
Officials shut down Route 12 as they recovered the pickup truck. It’s unclear whether the area has since been reopened.
Maryland State Police are currently looking into the circumstances of the wreck. We will follow this developing story for more details.
