HAGERSTOWN, MD – There were lane closures on a highway this morning after a fatal single-vehicle accident, according to WDVM.

A man was traveling on I-81 early this morning when his tractor-trailer struck the side rail and overturned. He was ejected in the crash and pronounced dead by emergency responders at the site of the accident.

The wreck happened at about 1:30 a.m. Friday, according to Maryland State Police.

Authorities shut down I-81 in the northbound lane as a towing company worked to clear the wreck and turn the tractor-trailer upright. The roadway was reopened several hours later.

No one else was injured in the wreck. The Maryland State Police Department is currently investigating the cause of the wreck.
