WOLF TRAP, VA – A woman died yesterday from injuries she sustained in a large accident last week, FFX Now reports.
A 2005 Nissan Sentra was heading eastbound on Georgetown Pike when it was struck head-on by a 2020 Audi A5. Fairfax County police report that the Audi’s driver swerved over the center line into the opposite lane. The Audi then spun out of control and hit a 1991 Toyota MR5.
The vehicles collided at about 3 p.m. Wednesday, in the 8800 block of the roadway. Georgetown Pike was closed between Old Dominion Drive and Towlston Road for several hours.
The driver of the Audi was treated for minor injuries at the scene of the wreck. The Nissan and Toyota drivers were taken to local trauma centers for their injuries. The Nissan driver, a 62-year-old woman from Berryville, was pronounced dead at the hospital four days after she was admitted.
The Fairfax County Police Department is currently looking into the cause of the crash.
