WASHINGTON, DC – One person suffered serious injuries after their vehicle crashed into the Potomac River Tuesday afternoon.
According to DC Fire and EMS, the single-vehicle crash occurred in the 1000 block of Ohio Drive SW around 1:00 PM on April 12th.
The vehicle reportedly crashed through the fence along the bank of the Potomac River. Emergency responders were able to rescue the driver from the partially submerged vehicle.
The driver suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and has been transported to a local hospital. Their identity and condition remain unknown.
The accident remains under investigation.
