News: One killed in motorcycle accident in La Plata

LA PLATA, MD – One person died after a motorcycle accident on MD-6 in La Plata Monday afternoon.

According to The Bay Net, the fatal crash took place on MD-6 near Valley Road around 2:50 PM on April 25th.

The motorcyclist reportedly lost control of the vehicle while navigating a curve in the road. The motorcycle exited the roadway and struck a drainage ditch, ejecting the motorcyclist from the vehicle. 

First responders transported the motorcyclist to the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center where they unfortunately succumbed to their injuries.

The victim has been identified as 43-year-old Robert James Toppi. 

The fatal crash remains under investigation.
