FAUQUIER CO., VA – One person has died and another suffered serious injuries after a head-on DUI crash Thursday night.
According to NBC 4, the fatal accident took place on Winchester Road near Leeds Manor Road around 8:20 PM on March 24th.
A 2014 Ford C-Max was traveling southbound when the vehicle crossed over the centerline in an attempt to pass another southbound vehicle. The Ford subsequently collided head-on with a 2006 Ford Taurus.
The driver of the Ford Taurus, 57-year-old Daniel F. Shomette died at the scene.
A 58-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Ford Taurus also suffered serious injuries. Her current condition is unknown.
The driver of the Ford C-Max, 67-year-old Kevin M. Hagan, was driving under the influence at the time of the crash. He has been charged with driving under the influence, involuntary aggravated manslaughter, and improper passing.
