WASHINGTON, DC – One person was killed and another suffered injuries after a shooting led to a car crash early Thursday morning.
According to ABC 7, the accident occurred in the 2800 block of New York Avenue NE around 2:00 AM on June 23rd.
Metro Police responded to reports of a crash and discovered two injured people in the vehicle.
The driver had sustained critical gunshot wounds while the passenger suffered injuries caused by the crash.
The driver, identified as 29-year-old Darrius Watts, unfortunately died after arriving at the hospital.
The passenger, an unidentified woman, remains hospitalized.
Metro Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the shooting and the accident.
