BRANDYWINE, MD – One person died and another suffered serious injuries after a single-vehicle crash Wednesday morning.

According to the Bay Net, the fatal crash took place on Accokeek Road near Gardner Road around 7:10 AM on April 27th.

A vehicle reportedly crossed over the center line in order to pass a slower vehicle on Accokeek Road. A Prince George’s County patrol officer subsequently turned on their emergency lights. The driver then lost control of the vehicle and exited the roadway before crashing. 

The 17-year-old driver died shortly after arriving at the hospital. The passenger suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries. 

The fatal accident remains under investigation.
