SPRINGFIELD, VA – One person died and another suffered serious injuries after a three-vehicle crash on I-95 early Monday morning.
According to WTOP, the crash occurred on I-95 southbound near mile marker 169 around 3:30 AM on May 9th.
At this time, the exact cause of the accident is unknown. One of the vehicles involved crashed into a barrier wall and caught fire on impact.
The driver of the vehicle unfortunately died at the scene. The passenger was rescued from the burning vehicle and taken to INOVA Fairfax Hospital. They remain hospitalized with serious injuries.
The occupants of the other two vehicles involved did not suffer any serious injuries.
