DUMFRIES, VA – One person died and another suffered life-threatening injuries after a two-vehicle crash in Dumfries Thursday morning.
According to WUSA, the fatal accident took place at the intersection of Dumfries Road and Country Club Drive around 8:30 AM on July 21st.
A 2018 Ford F-150 was reportedly traveling northbound on Dumfries Road when the driver disregarded a red light and continued through the Country Club Drive intersection. The Ford F-150 then struck a 2018 Lexus E300H that was attempting to turn left.
The driver of the Lexus, identified as 76-year-old Marvin Floom, suffered critical injuries and died shortly after being taken to the hospital.
The front seat passenger in the Lexus also suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to the hospital. Their identity and condition remain unknown.
Prince William County Police report that charges are pending against the driver of the Ford F-150. The accident remains under investigation.
