HENRICO COUNTY, VA – A two-vehicle crash claimed the life of one driver and injured three passengers earlier this week, ABC 8 News reports.

A Nissan Pathfinder and Hyundai Sonata were traveling on Cedar Fork Road when they collided near Cedar Manor Place. Both cars sustained severe damage after the wreck.

The Henrico County Police and Fire Departments arrived at the scene at about 6:24 p.m. Tuesday.

The Hyundai’s driver, a 61-year-old from Hanover County, was extricated from the vehicle by emergency responders. She was pronounced deceased after being taken to a nearby hospital.

Three passengers of the Nissan sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The accident was likely not caused by alcohol use or excessive speeds. The wreck is being investigated by the Henrico County Crash Team.
