WOODRIDGE, VA – One person died and three others suffered injuries after a three-vehicle collision in Woodridge Tuesday afternoon.
According to FOX 5, the fatal accident took place at the intersection of Opitz Boulevard and Telegraph Road around 1:00 PM on May 17th.
A GMC Savanna was traveling at high speed when they crashed into a Ford E350 that was stopped at a red light. The impact of the crash sent the Ford into a Toyota Sienna that was also stopped at the light.
The driver of the GMC Savanna suffered serious injuries but is expected to survive. The drivers of the Toyota Sienna and Ford E350 both suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The passenger of the GMC Savanna unfortunately died at the scene. Authorities have yet to identify the victim.
Police report that excessive speed contributed to the crash and charges are pending.
