WOODBRIDGE, VA – One person died and three others suffered injuries after a three-vehicle crash in Woodbridge Wednesday afternoon.
According to Inside Nova, the fatal accident took place at the intersection of Minnieville Road and Smoketown Road around 1:20 PM on April 13th.
A 2009 Mercedes E350 failed to stop at a red light and crashed into a 2016 Toyota Highlander in the intersection. The Toyota subsequently struck a 2000 Honda Accord that was stopped at the red light.
The driver of the Toyota, 77-year-old Mohammed Khalil Abdullah, died shortly after being taken to the hospital.
A passenger in the Toyota, the driver of the Honda, and the driver of the Mercedes were also hospitalized with minor injuries.
The driver of the Mercedes is facing charges in the fatal crash. Police determined that excessive speed was a factor in the accident.
