WASHINGTON, DC – A pedestrian has died after they were struck by two vehicles in a double hit-and-run accident Thursday night.
According to WUSA, the fatal collision occurred at the intersection of New York Avenue and New Jersey Avenue around 8:15 PM on March 17th.
The pedestrian was crossing New Jersey Avenue in a marked crosswalk at the time of the crash. A silver vehicle reportedly ran a red light and struck the pedestrian for the first time. A dark-colored vehicle also ran a red light and struck the pedestrian a second time. Both vehicles fled the scene.
The pedestrian was taken to a nearby hospital where they sadly succumbed to their injuries. They have been identified as 52-year-old Joseph Robinson.
