FREDERICK, MD – A female pedestrian died after they were struck by a vehicle on I-270 in Frederick Wednesday night.
According to WUSA, the fatal collision took place on I-270 near MD-109 around 11:30 PM on July 13th.
The pedestrian reportedly parked their vehicle on the right shoulder of I-270 before exiting the car. They were walking southbound in the northbound lanes of I-270 when a BMW sedan struck them.
The pedestrian, identified as 20-year-old Excel Oghenerukevwe Gold, suffered critical injuries and unfortunately died at the scene.
The driver of the BMW remained at the scene and was uninjured.
Maryland State Police continue to investigate the fatal collision.
