WASHINGTON, DC – A pedestrian died after they were struck by a vehicle while crossing the street in Northwest DC Sunday night.

According to the Daily Voice, the fatal collision occurred in the 5300 block of Connecticut Avenue around 9:45 PM on May 8th.

The pedestrian was struck by a Toyota Prius traveling southbound. The driver of the Toyota Prius remained at the scene.

The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and died shortly after arriving at the hospital. The victim has been identified as 66-year-old Clinton Covington.

Authorities continue to investigate the fatal accident.
