ROCKVILLE, MD – Several inmates were taken to the hospital after the van they were riding in was involved in a crash, according to ABC 7 News.
A van carrying inmates for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department was struck from behind on I-270. Authorities were dispatched to the scene this afternoon near the intersection with Route 28.
The driver and passenger of the van did not sustain any injuries in the wreck. Two prisoners inside of the van were hurt and taken to a local medical center for treatment. They are in stable condition.
It’s unclear if anyone in the striking car was injured.
