OXON HILL, MD – A woman was killed yesterday after she was struck by a vehicle in a parking lot, Shore News Network reports.

A pedestrian was walking in a parking lot when she fell to the ground for unknown reasons. Soon after she fell, a car began to drive out from a parking space and struck her.

The wreck took place on Indian Head Highway, in the 5100 block. Police arrived at the scene at about 6:10 p.m.

The pedestrian, a 52-year-old with no address, was killed at the scene of the accident. The driver did not sustain any injuries in the crash and waited for authorities to arrive at the crash site.

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit with the Prince George’s County Police Department is looking into the cause of the wreck.
