WALDORF, MD – A driver died in a crash early this morning after he tried to flee authorities, according to the Bay Net.
A car was traveling down Pine Cone Circle at about 4:06 a.m. Friday when it struck a stationary vehicle. The driver departed the scene of the wreck on foot but returned to the area in his vehicle. He then tried to flee from police by driving at excessive speeds on St. Charles Parkway, where his vehicle swerved and crashed.
Authorities arrived at the scene in the 3900 block and declared the driver deceased.
Police believe the driver was under the influence at the time of the crash. We will be following this story as it develops.
