COLUMBIA, MD – A skateboarder was struck and killed in a hit-and-run collision in Columbia Thursday morning.
According to WTOP, the fatal accident occurred on Snowden River Parkway near Oakland Mills Road in the early morning of July 28th.
A passerby reportedly found the skateboarder’s body lying in the median of Snowden River Parkway around 6:00 AM. Howard County Police believe the victim had been skateboarding in the roadway when they were struck by a vehicle. The driver then fled the scene.
Authorities identified the victim as 32-year-old Joseph Shawn Deliberts.
Howard County Police continue to investigate the type of vehicle involved in the fatal collision.
