SPRINGFIELD, VA – Traffic was significantly impeded earlier today after a tractor-trailer burst into flames, Inside Nova reports.
A tractor-trailer was traveling north on I-95 this morning when it caught fire for unknown reasons. The truck reportedly had also been leaking chemicals.
The incident happened near the split towards I-495, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.
One passenger was examined for injuries after the fire.
All northbound lanes of the highway were closed as local crews worked to extinguish the fire. Authorities advised motorists to avoid the area and use other routes.
