MANASSAS, VA – Two people suffered injuries following a hit-and-run crash involving a stalled vehicle on I-66 early Monday morning.
According to WTOP, the crash occurred on I-66 eastbound near mile marker 48 around 3:00 AM on June 6th.
A Nissan Altima reportedly stalled out in the far left lane. The driver turned on their hazard lights, placed a traffic cone behind the vehicle, and went to wait for assistance behind the highway retaining wall.
A Kia Forte subsequently crashed into the back of the Nissan Altima. The driver of the Kia then fled the scene on foot.
A back seat passenger in the Kia suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital. Their condition is unknown.
A front seat passenger in the Kia also suffered minor injuries.
Police have yet to apprehend the driver. They request that anyone with information about the accident please contact Fairfax County Police.
