ROCKVILLE, MD – Two Maryland State Troopers suffered injuries after another driver crashed into their vehicles on I-270 Thursday evening.
According to ABC 4, the collision took place on I-270 near Montrose Road around 6:15 PM on April 28th.
Several people had called to report a vehicle driving recklessly on I-270 shortly before the crash. The troopers’ vehicles were parked on the shoulder of I-270 with their emergency lights on when the reported vehicle crashed into both.
Both troopers were taken to Suburban Hospital with injuries but have since been released. Their identities are unknown at this time.
The driver, 59-year-old Kevin Junghans, was also hospitalized. Police state that drug impairment contributed to the crash.
The collision remains under investigation.
