BOONSBORO, MD – Responders from a local fire department were called to the scene of a crash where a vehicle caught fire this afternoon, WTOP Traffic reports.

The car burst into flames in the eastbound lanes of I-70. It’s unclear whether anyone was injured.
EMS was dispatched to the scene of the incident near the South Mountain Rest Area, at approximately 2:56 p.m. today. Officials reported that the fire blocked the right side of the highway.
Details about the cause of the accident are unknown at this time. We will be following this story for more updates.
